Workhorse is very excited to kick off our contribution to Hyperakt’s On The Grid. On The Grid is a large collaborative project between designers to document the best local restaurants, bars, parks, and shops across the world.
We’ve picked our studio’s home, Capitol Hill, to feature some of our favorite joints as well as give us an opportunity to discover new spots and meet some of our neighbors.
So, for the next several weeks we’ll be dining, drinking, and shopping our way through Capitol Hill. If you know of a cool spot that we shouldn’t miss, make sure you holler at us with your recommendations. To give you a delicious taste of what’s to come, check out what we’ve photographed and written about Union Kitchen Grocery.
Know of any cool spots we should check out? Email me, leah@wrkhrs.co
Union Kitchen Grocery
You always hear, “Quality Over Quantity,” but what if we said that it’s both? We spent an afternoon meal nomming away on several of UKG’s sandwiches. They weren’t shy about the layers of meat or their three-tiered bread. It’s that happy combination of carbs and protein that makes your belly satisfied for hours. What’s even better is they’re also a small grocery store that stocks the shelves with local and national brands including more than 200 food and beverage products made locally in DC.
